Jesus tells us as He told Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians ). And so we rest in His grace. We allow Him to cover us. To fill us. And we remain in Him. Because after all, this is the place of blessing. The place where the grace of God is poured out. Grace upon grace. Grace upon Grace. definitely an inspiring good read. amazing how difficult situations, those that really are heart wrenching ones come one after the other would still leave a heart that is faithful and that is so trusting in GOD’s ultimate plan. this book has blessed me immensely and humbled me. there are still many people out there who suffered much more trials n difficulties (more 5/5.

The author is very transparent about himself and does not put himself on a pedestal. The book is honest with Biblical truths throughout. The author understands grace and explains clearly that it covers over a multitude of sins. This book is filled with grace and truth/5(35). Grace Upon Grace is one of the best theological books I've read in a long time.

Written by a gifted, articulate, and obviously well-educated Methodist scholar, this book deals with the doctrines of Grace and Faith as they function in the Grace upon grace book of the people of by: 4. "Grace Upon Grace: Sacramental Theology and the Christian Life, is well-presented and thought-provoking.

Neal writes to both the scholar and the layman who wants to learn more about faith and grace, and he does so in an elegant and learned manner that never veers into pretentiousness or condescension."5/5(5). This book describes the author's personal journey in faith and grace as a widow and single mother to her cancer warrior child.

It chronicles how she managed to rise above her fears and found joy even in moments of grief and sorrow.5/5. The essential message of Grace upon grace book Christian faith, grace is the unremitting love of God the Father in Jesus Christ for all people.

It is the scot-free forgiveness of sins, God's unchanging favor for those who do not deserve it. Despite this good news, we live in a world where it is more shrouded than revealed.5/5(3). Grace Upon Grace in Our Lives.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father; full of grace and truth And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for [upon] grace. (John16) The grace.

Grace upon Grace Exodus presents one of the most striking accounts of human sinfulness and God's amazing grace to be found in the entire Bible. Today, these chapters can help us to remember that when we sin by worshipping golden calves like materialism or prestige, God is ready to forgive us and give us a clean slate when we come to Him in repentance (see also I John ).

But the actual Greek phrase is grace “anti” grace. The word anti is a Greek preposition that can have several meanings. The New King James Version translates it for, but most linguists prefer using the word upon.

Out of the fullness of His own grace, Jesus gives us grace upon grace, grace on top of grace. For of his fullness we all received, and grace upon grace. Aramaic Bible in Plain English And of his fulness we have all received, and grace for grace.

GOD'S WORD® Translation Each of us has received one gift after another because of all that the Word is. New American Standard For of His fulness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

Admittedly, Kleinigs academic writing style makes Grace Upon Grace somewhat hard to wade through (dont try to read it in bed), but the insight that can be gleaned from it is profound.

This book shows how true spirituality is all about Christ working for us, not us working for Him. Our relationship towards Him is only enabled by His amazing grace/5. For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.

The NIV translates the verse “Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.” Christ (the Word) has been the focus of John chapter 1. In verse 14 we read, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”.

KJV has “grace for grace.” This is according to D.A. Carson (quoting the TNIV). This is consistent with what he wrote in his commentary on John, published almost 20 years earlier. It implies abundance of graces, and greater graces under the new law of Christ than in the time of the law of Moses; which exposition is confirmed by the following verse.

Grace Upon Grace: Spirituality for Today provided deeper insights into Christian spirituality, connecting it to worship and prayer within a Lutheran context. We used the book as basis for small group study and discussion on spirituality/5(30).All of these things are part of grace upon grace upon grace.
